The Education Bureau of Jiading District，Shanghai is the functional department in charge of the school education of the district, whose principal responsibility is to:

1.implement the educational policies, laws and regulations of the Party and the state government; make development planning on education and yearly plan of the local area and then carry them out.

2.be in charge of the elementary and secondary education, occupational education, continuing education for adults, pre-school education and special education of the whole district; direct and coordinate the tasks related to education among different departments; carry out the educational supervision and evaluation.

3.direct education reform, organize the performance of scientific education researches and expedite the extensive application of their achievements to improve the teaching standard in the district.

4.be in charge of the identification and accreditation of teachers’ qualification and professional position; formulate planning for teacher training and improve the quality of teachers, thus bring up a better troop of qualified teachers.

5.draw up the budget and final accounts of the education expense; reinforce the supervision and administration of the expense on education of the local schools and other education organizations, undertake the management of school buildings as well as other educational facilities and equipment, and enhance the efficiency of the educational investment.

6.be in charge of the training and supervision of the administrative cadres for all the schools and educational organizations in the district and assume the responsibility to appoint cadres for the subordinate educational organizations and schools according to the state regulations.

7.be in charge of the student recruitment for a variety of schools in the district.

8.make planning and coordinate the construction of spiritual civilization in the education area; reinforce moral education; ensure the legal rights of the elementary and secondary school students in concert with the relevant departments of the government so as to protect their healthy growth.

9.assume the responsibility to fulfill the tasks given by the superior departments.
