The predecessor of Fengbang Senior High School of Jiading District, Shanghai was Fengbang High School of Jiading County. Founded in 1959, the school has experienced historical phases of creation, separation, relocation, development, rejuvenation and reconstruction, for over 50 years, the people of the school, in several generations, have worked hard for reform and realized first rate teaching quality, writing a splendid chapter for the progress of the school, and also deposited profound culture in it. In February, 2012, the school was relocated to the new campus at 255, Jinyao Road of Jiangqiao Town.

I. Basic conditions
The school now covers a land area of 32,000m2, with complete teaching facilities, including various special-purpose classrooms as computer rooms, wresting room, dancing room, laboratory, calligraphy and fine art. The campus is in a rational layout, with building clusters set off properly in gardens and green land, providing a comfortable, cozy and tidy campus environment, as an ideal place for work, study and living. Today it has 18 teaching classes, with 682 students, and 67 faculty members on payroll, of whom 66% are teachers with senior and medium professional titles. In the recent three years, the school enrolled over 10 teachers with master degree, and now it has 6 core teachers at the district and town levels.

II. Schooling philosophy
The school carries on the education policy of the Party in all aspects, with formalized schooling acts. It carries on the excellent tradition and keeps on opening up and innovation, adheres to the schooling philosophy “filling every child full of hope” and the school style of “seeking truth and knowledge, building up health and promoting beauty”, and has formed the teaching style of “setting examples for others and teaching tirelessly” and the good style of learning “inquiring with earnestness and reflecting with self-practice and insatiable in learning”. The “intangible cultural heritage” featured courses aiming at “aesthetic education and turning knowledge into intelligence” and the campus culture construction has gradually gained affirmation and praises from the public.

III. Honors and achievements
The school has been appraised as a safe and model campus of Shanghai, the “model schooling unit” of Jiading District in 2014, the ideological and ethical construction demonstration school for juveniles in Jiading District, and school with national cultural features of Jiading District; it has also got the honorable titles of excellent inheriting and learning base for excellent Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage in Shanghai, a demonstration school for governance by law in Jiading District, and scientific and technological innovation program fostering school of Jiading District.
