On the morning of Mar. 18, color flags were flying in Zhenchuan High School and the campus was full of joy, as a delegation of 18 teachers and students from Wake of Okayama Prefecture, Japan came to Zhenchuan High School for visit and exchanges.
At 9 o’clock, a grand welcome ceremony was held in the school. In his speech, the principal Qiu Xin presented the history, culture and development course of Zhenchuan High School, and he hoped that the students of both countries can make in-depth exchange, demonstrate talents and art to each other, and learn from and promote each other, so as to enhance understanding and friendship, and spend a fruitful morning with joy in the school.
The leader of Okayama Prefecture of Japan in charge of education presented the basic conditions of schools in the prefecture, and he also thanked the teachers and students of Zhenchuan High School for their enthusiastic reception, hoping that the students can enjoy a fruitful morning in this school with secluded and beautiful scene and long history, and hoping more that the planned trip of students of Zhenchuan High School to Japan in the coming May a successful and happy journey of experience.
Then, guided by volunteers and accompanied by the principal Qiu Xin and vice principal Tang Xianwu, the delegation visited sceneries of tablet pavilion, Fan Xuan Inscriptions, Gui Youguang Exhibition Hall and the ancient well of the Liang Dynasty, with detailed explanation by student narrators. During their visit, students in break enthusiastically waved hands to Japanese students for greeting. After the visit, the Wake students and students in the school did penless painting and calligraphy in pairs, and presented gifts to each other. Then, they watched and experienced in person the fencing training, and enjoyed wonderful performance of Zhengchuan Music Band, Hulusi and allegro. At the end, students of the two countries did a short interaction of basketball.
In the afternoon, the teacher and student delegates from Wake of Okayama came to Taoliyuan Experiment School.
It was just the time for expansion courses on Friday. The Japanese teachers and students first visited the featured expansion courses of the school, including calligraphy, performance, dancing, robot and cooking. It happened that the students of the cooking class were learning how to make pizza, so they invited the Japanese friends to enjoy the pizza they made with their own hands, in a very friendly atmosphere!
After visiting the expansion courses, the school presented many featured programs for the Japanese delegation in the multi-function classroom of the primary school section. They included the two songs Jasmine Flower and I Believe by the school chorus, the calisthenics performance by the cheering team of the school, the folk dancing by Wu Yihong and Lv Michiko, the flute play by Zhang Hanyang and Zhu Yijun, and the solo English song by Feng Yizhi. In addition to the performance, there were also many small interactions on spot, such as teaching the Japanese friends to make Chinese knot and dance, with colorful contents and demonstrating the special artistic culture of China. The Japanese students also brought the teachers and students of Taoliyuan traditional stories of Japan, which were quite interesting with both narration in English and body performance.
The friendly atmosphere became all the more prominent when gifts were presented to each other. The students built up beautiful friendship between them in just a few hours of meeting, and were unwilling to part when the time had come.
Taoliyuan and Wake School of Japan have maintained friendly exchanges for five years. In the coming May, the school will also lead a group of students to visit Japan. We believe that such interactions and exchanges will give students much beautiful experience and memories.
