On the morning of Mar. 28, 2016, a grand welcome ceremony was held at Zhenchuan High School for the team of 7 teachers and students from Fitzgerald Public School in Warren City of Marcom County, Michigan of the US. The American teachers and students, accompanied by the receiving teachers and students and their families, participated in the flag rising ceremony of the school on Monday.

Tang Xianwu, vice principal of Zhenchuan High School, delivered a welcome speech, he introduced to the American teachers and students the history and features of Zhenchuan High School, and wished a peaceful, healthy, happy and fruitful journey in China for the American teachers and students. The American teachers and students also made brief introductions. Zhao Ping, principal of Anting Senior High School and Qiu Xin, principal of Zhenchuan High School respectively presented gifts to the American teachers and students. The brief welcome ceremony was ended with a wonderful poem read by students of Grade VII.

In the big meeting room of the school, Tang Xianwu introduced to the American teachers and students the families of hosting volunteers and the detailed arrangement in the following 4 days; the students and their parents of hosting volunteers families got acquainted and did exchanges with the friends from the opposite side of the Pacific Ocean. At noon, the hosting families and American teachers and students made Jiaozi at the canteen, tasting the Chinese Jiaozi.

In the afternoon, accompanied by parents of hosting volunteers, students of both countries enjoyed the wonderful performance by the concert band and Hulusi band of the school, and learned Chinese paper cutting, sand painting, food carving and wind music …… In the colorful expanding courses of the school, the American friends had a rich and splendid first day ……
