On Apr. 7, 2016, the government delegation of Tacoma City of the United States, led by Marilyn Strickland, mayor of the Tacoma City and Patrick Irving, principal of Lincoln High School, came to Jiading No. 1 High School for exchange and visit. The activity was attended by Li Yuan, deputy head of Jiading District, Yao Wei and Zhu Yu, director and deputy director of Education Bureau of the District, and Gu Chunhua, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the District.
At the symposium, both parties discussed on issues of cooperation. Li Yuan indicated that Jiading District would like very much to carry out inter-city exchanges with Tacoma City, especially cooperation and exchange in the field of education, to inject new motive force in education and culture exchanges between China and the United States, and promote the friendly relations between the two countries. Yao Wei, on behalf of the education sector of Jiading, expressed warm welcome to the government delegation of Tacoma City for their visit. The Education Bureau of Jiading District has the international vision of development, and has always attached importance to the international cooperation and exchanges at all levels. He hoped that both parties can carry out exchanges and cooperation in the education field, to jointly foster international talents, and let young people have broader minds, more open vision and better future.
Guan Wenjie, executive vice principal of Jiading No. 1 High School presented to the delegation the 90-year history of the school, and the teaching achievements and features of the school. The guests visited the campus, and went to classrooms to exchange with students amiably, hearing the opinions and suggestions from students on the forms and items of mutual visit and exchange activities. The profound historical and cultural deposit of Jiading No. 1 High School and the splendid performance of students left deep impressions on the visiting guests.
